Regional resilience
We support efforts that help countries and communities move from reactive emergency response toward sustained disaster-risk reduction and long-term resilience.
Latin America and the Caribbean
The Global Preparedness Resilience Foundation works with public agencies, civil society, emergency-response institutions, and private-sector partners to strengthen disaster preparedness, regional cooperation, and operational resilience across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Our approach is grounded in practical readiness: stronger institutions, better-prepared societies, improved coordination, and field-capable solutions that help countries and communities reduce risk and respond effectively when emergencies occur.

Who We Are
The Global Preparedness Resilience Foundation was created to support countries and institutions as they work to improve lives through stronger preparedness, more resilient systems, and better coordination in the face of disasters and complex emergencies.
GPRF focuses on the operational realities of Latin America and the Caribbean: multi-hazard environments, uneven institutional capacity, infrastructure vulnerability, communications challenges, and the need for timely coordination between governments, emergency responders, communities, donors, and the private sector.
Regional Focus
GPRF is intentionally focused on Latin America and the Caribbean, where resilience depends on stronger institutions, better preparedness, and practical cooperation across borders and sectors.
We support efforts that help countries and communities move from reactive emergency response toward sustained disaster-risk reduction and long-term resilience.
We emphasize readiness at the operational level through exercises, training, shared situational awareness, and practical planning that helps agencies and communities prepare for emergencies before they become crises.
We help improve coordination between local and national agencies, regional networks, civil society, critical infrastructure operators, and private partners whose collaboration is essential during disasters.
In Practice
GPRF’s core capabilities work together in the field. Our support model brings communications and interoperability, incident response, training and exercise, grant and program management, public-private partnership engagement, and ICS instruction into one practical operating framework.
Regional context
Across Latin America and the Caribbean, countries face recurring disasters, operational complexity, and the need for stronger coordination between public agencies, communities, and private-sector partners. GPRF’s work is grounded in these realities and focused on practical implementation.
We help partners strengthen readiness, improve incident coordination, build interoperable operating environments, and connect training, program delivery, and field support into a coherent resilience effort.
GPRF supports field-to-command coordination, shared situational awareness, emergency communications, and interoperability across agencies, disciplines, and operating environments.
We help partners strengthen incident coordination, response planning, operational readiness, and the practical systems needed to support complex emergency operations.
We design and support classroom instruction, tabletop exercises, functional exercises, field demonstrations, and train-the-trainer programs that help teams practice realistic coordination before a crisis.
GPRF supports fundable program design, implementation planning, partner coordination, reporting, and management structures for preparedness and resilience initiatives.
We help connect public agencies, NGOs, donors, industry, and critical infrastructure operators so that preparedness programs are practical, collaborative, and implementation-ready.
GPRF provides Incident Command System instruction that helps teams understand command structure, role clarity, operational coordination, and scalable incident-management practices.
Experience
GPRF brings together experience in emergency management, training and exercise design, public safety, technology-enabled response coordination, and international stakeholder engagement.
Our work in South America and our broader regional orientation support a practical model for strengthening preparedness, institutional coordination, and resilience across Latin America and the Caribbean.
